    Project Components

    The project developed a Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) for Saudi Arabia in accordance with international standards of the UN World Tourism Organization, European Commission and OECD. It involved designing methodologies for compiling tourism satellite accounts, integrating data sources, conducting economic analysis and capacity building to accurately measure tourism’s contribution to GDP.

    A. The Challenge

    Saudi Arabia lacked a standardized, internationally‑compliant methodology to quantify the economic contribution of tourism and inform policy decisions.

    B. Our Solution

    The team designed and implemented a TSA aligned with global best practices, harmonized data from multiple sources, developed analytical tools and trained ministry staff to maintain and update the account.

    C. Key Achievements

    A fully functional Tourism Satellite Account was delivered, providing reliable tourism statistics; the ministry enhanced its analytical capacity and produced credible evidence to support tourism strategies.
